In the mid 19th century, when men ruled the world of port, Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira arrived in the remote and barren wilderness of the Douro Valley, a widow with a young daughter. By the time of her death she had become one of the wealthiest and most successful port producers.
This is her story and the story of Ferreira port.
